The University of Southampton has been named the lead institution for the UK’s next wave of AI talent development, with a fully funded scholarship program launching under the UKRI AI Centre for Doctoral Training initiative. What Is the AI UKRI CDT?
The UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) initiative funds Centres for Doctoral Training (CDTs) to develop top-tier AI talent in partnership with academia and industry. Southampton’s new CDT will focus on AI applications in sustainability, ethics, and robotics.
Program Highlights:
- Fully funded PhD scholarships for 4 years
- Covers tuition fees + annual stipend (~£18,000–£20,000)
